Running one queue for walk-ins and remote joins

A barbershop rarely gets to choose one kind of customer. Some people walk in off the street. Some join the queue from their phone before they've even left home. Some book an appointment for later in the day. A tool built around only one of these breaks the moment real customers show up in the other mode.

The problem with treating them separately

Systems built for appointments alone struggle with walk-ins, because a walk-in doesn't fit into a pre-booked slot — they're standing in the shop right now.
